Mods are items that can be attached to Vehicles in order to alter their basic attributes. Attaching a mod requires some of the vehicle's capacity, and the amount of capacity required depends upon the color ranking of the mod. Each mods will raise or lower Attack, Armor, and/or Dodge. Some mods will also lower the Offensive or Defensive stats of the vehicle.
Note that if a mod reduces any of the vehicles stats below 0, the vehicle cannot be sent out until all stats are at least 0. For example, attaching a Tin 90mm Gun reduces the base offense to -1, so at least 1 weapon with offense of 1 or greater must be carried to send the vehicle on a route.
Red+ Mods can only be attached to Red+ Vehicles, and Green+ Mods can only be attached to Green+ Vehicles. Attaching Green+ Mods to a vehicle requires Bolts; one bolt for a Green, two bolts for a Blue, three bolts for a Red, etc.
Attack inflicts damage to an opponents Armor during each turn of combat. Aggressive vehicles are vulnerable to having their attack stats reduced by defensive weapons.
- Attack is important for all professions, as the only way to win a battle is to bring your opponent's armor down to 0. Since trader's cannot utilize Offensive weapons, Attack is their only option.
This is the life blood of your vehicle. Each round, the Armor is reduced by the Attack stats, as well as by the Offensive weapons (depending upon the type of combat). When it reaches zero your vehicle has been defeated.
During combat, the aggressive vehicle's Offense stat reduces the Armor of its opponent. However, this amount of damage done can be reduced by the opposing vehicle's Dodge stat.
- Offense is only important to the aggressive professions, and can cause large amounts of damage if an opponent is not using enough Dodge.
During combat, the defensive vehicle's defensive stat reduces the Attack of its opponent. However, this amount of damage done can be reduced by the opposing vehicle's Dodge stat.
- Defensive weapons are important when an opponent is relying heavily on Attack.
Dodge reduces the effectiveness of Offensive and Defensive weapons.
- Given the strength that weapons have to inflict offensive and defensive damage, it is important to always have at least some Dodge.
Rock, Paper, Scissors
The nature of these is stats creates a Rock, Paper, Scissor scenario. There is no safe setup. Anything can be defeated by the appropriate opposing setup.
High Dodge beats High Offense High Attack beats High Dodge High Defense beats High Attack High Offense beats High Defense
